Kyosho Radial Tire Set for Monster While we all love the V Tread tires for the Kyosho Mini-Z Monster they leave something to be desired when it comes to track racing. They slide around way too much. The Radial tires are about 10 degree's softer than the stock tires I believe which contributes to the added traction, as well as the tread pattern. The lower overall profile of the Radial tires also helps marginally with the center of gravity problem with the Monster being so high up. I would also pair these with either Kyosho Soft or Hard Inner Sponge Sets depending on your preference. These give you much better tire response and increased speeds. I know this has nothing to do with performance but the raised lettering on the sidewalls has been a very nice addition to Kyosho Monster and Overland tires as well. There's nothing wrong with looking good as well as working good I haven't taken my Monster out on the street as much but I think the performance gains would translate just as well on the pavement as they do on the track. These coupled with an aggressive forward leaning stance and a fast motor/cell setup make the Monster very fun to race. If you want to take it to the next level, check out Dominick Shaunt and ph2t's Li-Poly Monster setups Mini-ZRacer.com Parts Database: Monster Radial Tires

Hummer H1 AutoScale This is possibly the best Overland body released so far! Like the G55, this body is soo full of detail it's hard to know where to start. From the rivet details and hood anchors to the awesome front corner lamps this body is amazing! One of the other benefits of this body is that you can use larger aftermarket tires with little to no mods required! I have been using Lego tires very successfully since I've had my H1. Mercedes G55 This purchase was well worth the money! The G55 has soo much detail it's hard to know where to start... From the spare tire on the back to the small corner lights on the hood, this body has it all. My only complaint is this body would be very hard to use for track racing as it's soo tall and top heavy. Other than that, I would say this is one of the best looking Overland bodies. Wednesday, September 1

Toyota Harrier The Toyota Harrier turns out to be better looking in person than the previous release images. While I think it's probably one of the least attractive Overland AutoScales, it proved to a very good track body. The handling characteristics were along the lines of the BMW X5 which was surprising as it has a much longer chassis setting. One of the most interesting features of the Harrier are the rubber mirrors. These are much better than solid abs plastic mirrors as found on the rest of the Overland lineup. The proved to be much more resilient contrary to just about every other AutoScale's mirrors which tend to snap off easily. This doesn't mean they won't break off, it just takes more to do so. Porsche Cayenne turbo AutoScale I just received the Porsche Cayenne AutoScale and I was surprised to find it one of the most bland overland AutoScales released thus far in terms of detail. The Toyota Harrier, while less attractive, has much more detail. This aside, it does capture the sleek and unpretentious nature of the Cayenne perfectly. The overall height and length is similar to the Harrier which handles very well on the track so I'm hoping this AutoScale proves just as adept on the track. The Porsche also shares the same chassis settings as the Mercedes G55. |
