News Flash:  AP writer Al Romack

Blinding snow and piles of snow kept all but the most fearless drivers off the track for qualifying today.  The rookies in particular seemed astonished that the pro’s were out risking their machines, and oh yeah their lives.  One rookie, now nicknamed fearless Tim, decided to play with the big boys and took his car out for a qualifying time of 22.19s.  The pro field was greatly reduced with Aland (12.04s), Gary (12.91s), Al (16.58s) and Bill (26.67s) attempting qualifying runs.  Word from Aland’s crew chief is that the donuts in the infield, after just edging out Gary’s car were totally un-necessary, but a great morale booster.  The landscaping crew chief is looking for revenge and was overheard saying that team Nissan’s pit looked like a great place to pile snow.  Everyone hopes that the track will at least be plowed by tomorrow’s race, bring your shovels.

See you there, and keep the rubber side down.
