News Flash:  AP writer Al Romack

Drivers were stunned today when rookie driver Tim Dutton accelerated out of pit row in a brand new Purple-To-Gold Toyota Supra.  Yes, that’s right race fans, Toyota!!  Everyone was all mum in team Nismo’s pits as they watched the practice laps unwind.   When team captain Aland Santamarina was asked about the latest development and the future of rookie driver Dutton he had this to say:

“I am sure that Tim will do well with his new backing.  He has a lot of talent.  This will give our team more resources to concentrate on the remaining Rookie, Frank Adams”

While this quote seems quite congenial, all this reporter can tell you about today’s practice session is that the new Toyota has traded enough paint with veteran driver Santamarina to look like he has been on the circuit for a full season.  I’ll bet Tim will be paying special attention to the black and yellow Nissan for the next couple practice sessions.

I ran into Toyota Team captain Ken Morrison after practice and asked him about the situation.  Ken winked and replied:

“We would welcome this opportunity to take points away from Team Nismo and would welcome a skilled and up and coming driver.”

Well Race Fans this should be an interesting practice week leading up to Next Friday’s Points race.

See you there, and keep the rubber side down.
