Hi, I wanted to write an article regarding the formation and operation of RC racing clubs. We started THRC off road down here in Houston in the Spring of 2001. At that time we could not even get 6 people to show up and race. We started brainstorming on ideas to increase the interest and get more people involved and eventually racing.
We recently started our mini scale racing program called (HMSR) Houston Mini Scale Racing. We started this program on the same premis as the off road club THRC.
The first thing to do is identify the existing racers and car owners. Get their names and email addresses and start some sort of communication process. Even using message boards such as the mini-z racer forum will work. The key is having a place where the racers in your area will have clear access to your intentions and schedule on a local level.

If you race your MR-02, then chances are that you've encountered this problem at least once - after a heavy impact, you discover that your front knuckle arm has fractured, and no longer holds your knuckles properly. So now, you have to replace the entire chassis in order to fix it! JPL comes to the rescue with this replacement alloy Tower Bar! Available in two versions: no-offset blue anodized, and gold-anodized with 1.5 degrees camber and 0.5 degrees caster, for improved handling on tight tracks. The Police Cruiser and Taxi that we've all been waiting to add to our fleets have been delayed! Kyosho has cancelled all orders, and will be re-taking orders during the Tokyo Toy Show in October. Also delayed were the 2004 JGTC Supras.

The upcoming film "Team America: World Police", from the creators of South Park, will feature several vehicles based on Mini-Z Monster and Overland kits purchased by Paramount Pictures from Mini-ZRacer.com! Be sure to look out for scenes featuring the Team America H2, a Chinese Jeep, and a red and white Pickup Truck, which were based on Mini-Zs supplied by the Mini-ZRacer.com Shop!

Hummer H1 AutoScale This is possibly the best Overland body released so far! Like the G55, this body is soo full of detail it's hard to know where to start. From the rivet details and hood anchors to the awesome front corner lamps this body is amazing! One of the other benefits of this body is that you can use larger aftermarket tires with little to no mods required! I have been using Lego tires very successfully since I've had my H1. Mercedes G55 This purchase was well worth the money! The G55 has soo much detail it's hard to know where to start... From the spare tire on the back to the small corner lights on the hood, this body has it all. My only complaint is this body would be very hard to use for track racing as it's soo tall and top heavy. Other than that, I would say this is one of the best looking Overland bodies. Wednesday, September 1

Toyota Harrier The Toyota Harrier turns out to be better looking in person than the previous release images. While I think it's probably one of the least attractive Overland AutoScales, it proved to a very good track body. The handling characteristics were along the lines of the BMW X5 which was surprising as it has a much longer chassis setting. One of the most interesting features of the Harrier are the rubber mirrors. These are much better than solid abs plastic mirrors as found on the rest of the Overland lineup. The proved to be much more resilient contrary to just about every other AutoScale's mirrors which tend to snap off easily. This doesn't mean they won't break off, it just takes more to do so. |
