Sunday 16 october was held the very first Kyosho Z-Cup race organized by our club (www.mini6z.fr.st) in the town of Sand (Strasbourg suburbs). This race was the second one in our Eastern France region counting for the official french 2005-2006 Z-Cup season. For this occasion we chose a unusual layout by reproducing the Formula 1 track of Estoril (Portugal) featuring much more interesting trajectories than standard "pacman" type layouts.
This very fast layout made the MR01 category a little disadvantaged in the straight lines.
Kyosho Z-cup only allowing X-speed motors with standard fets, the race was nonetheless very disputed, particulary in the MR02 A finals. Many visitors were attending both qualifications and finals, giving the event a special racing feeling, particulary with public applauses after each finals
Thanks to Fred from Modelism68 hobby store in Mulhouse for the race management and setting up the lap-Z counting system and to the city of Sand for the reception in a little narrow hall to accomodate 32 pilots and many visitors.

All in all, this race day was a very pleasant and great success. The next Z-cup race in this Eastern France region will be held on November 13 in Selestat (30 miles south of Strasbourg).
